Hughes Construction Company was contracted to remove and replace the concrete and steps on the left side of the building. Excavating took place on the left side and rear foundation down to footer depth. The foundation walls were then sealed with a waterproofing material to facilitate drainage. A new 4″ drain line for ground water was installed and connected to all downspouts/ future concrete drains. Once all drainage systems were complete, the excavated area where concrete was replaced was filled completely with pea gravel to prevent future settlement. The concrete was replaced to the existing dimensions. The new steps were then reinstalled in front of the doors, this required trench drains to be added in various locations to prevent any type of ponding. All concrete was poured at a minimum of 5″ thick with fiber reinforced class c concrete by Ernst Concrete.
