We don’t just work on residential projects—we are also fully equipped for commercial jobs. Recently, we completed a project for Echler Electric to support a new electrical transformer. Our team installed a durable underground concrete vault and conduit lines, poured a custom concrete base, and installed protective safety bollards. Overall, we built everything to meet exact power company guidelines.

Prep, install, and Pour

First, we needed a strong, level base for the heavy transformer. We coordinated with our supplier to get a precast concrete vault—a pre-made underground concrete box that houses and protects electrical wiring. Precast concrete is made in a controlled factory setting, for strength and precision. Next, our crew dug out the area and set the vault into the ground to create safe access for the main power lines.

Once the underground vault was set, we prepped the ground above and around it. Then, we formed and poured a custom concrete curb directly around the vault. Pouring this curb on-site allowed us to match the exact ground height and ensure rainwater drains away properly. Therefore, the area was fully stable before electricians installed the transformer.

Equipment Protection and Safety Bollard Setup

After Duke Energy set the transformer onto the pad, our team returned to install safety bollards—the thick metal posts placed around equipment to protect it from vehicles. We set eight steel posts deep into the ground using high-strength concrete.

We made sure to place the posts at exact distances required by the power company. Specifically, we positioned them far enough from the transformer so utility workers have clear room to work. Consequently, all cabinet doors can open fully without hitting the posts.

Ultimately, our crew handles complete concrete jobs, taking care of everything from digging to final safety protection.
