Last year, a homeowner in Cleves, Ohio asked us to install a 28′ x 35′ multi-use concrete court for pickleball and basketball. They admired a basketball court we completed a few years before and wanted something similar. Their goal was a durable, low-maintenance surface that would work for both sports while also looking sleek and professional.
Concrete Installation
As is our standard, we poured 5-inch thick, fiber-reinforced Class C concrete, the same type used for city sidewalks. The mix is infused with fiberglass particles for additional strength and durability. This ensures the court is strong, long-lasting, and safe for play. To provide traction without making the surface too rough, we used a float finish. After curing, we applied a sealer to protect the court from wear, weather, and stains.
Basketball Hoop and Court Lines
We installed the footing for a new basketball hoop provided by Gamechanger Athletics, which ensures stability and proper support. Once the concrete cured, Gamechanger Athletics also painted the court lines, clearly marking boundaries for both pickleball and basketball.
Lawn Restoration
Next, we restored the surrounding lawn. We spread new seed and straw over any disturbed areas. This left the yard neat and visually seamless with the existing landscape.
Project Highlights
This project shows how careful planning, quality materials, and attention to detail create a functional, multi-sport surface. From the concrete foundation to the finished lines, every step focused on durability and usability. Whether adding a basketball hoop, a pickleball court, or both, the right installation improves safety, longevity, and playability. Overall, this court offers a reliable and enjoyable space for recreational activities.
