Wishing You a Safe and Happy 4th of July
As we celebrate our independence this July 4th, we’re reminded of the value of stability—something that applies just as much to the country we live in as it does to the homes we live in every day.
At Hughes Construction, our work is rooted in that same idea. Strong foundations, reliable drainage, and well-built support systems allow a home to function as it should for years to come. We don’t take shortcuts, and we don’t offer temporary fixes. Our focus is always on identifying the underlying problem and providing solutions that are built to last.
The summer months often bring increased rainfall and moisture issues, especially in areas with poor drainage or aging concrete. These conditions tend to reveal problems that may have been quietly developing—cracking, settling, erosion, or water intrusion around the base of the home. If you’ve noticed signs like standing water, uneven concrete, or shifting walls, it’s worth paying attention. Early action can prevent larger, more costly repairs down the line.
Our team uses laser-grade levels and site-specific runoff calculations to understand exactly what’s going on below the surface. Whether we’re installing a drain system, replacing a retaining wall, or reinforcing existing supports, we approach each job with careful planning and attention to detail.
Please note that our office will be closed on Thursday, July 4th. We’ll be back on Monday, July 7th. If you need to get in touch while we’re away, feel free to reach out through our contact form. We’ll follow up as soon as we return.
We appreciate the opportunity to serve homeowners throughout the region, and we wish you and your family a safe and restful holiday weekend.
